Her goal is to 'hold the mic' for authors to tell their stories and be a helpful support system. She is looking for #ownvoices stories, Feminist lit/#MeToo stories, and LGBTQIA+ authors in both fiction and nonfiction. While primarily interested in fiction, she will consider nonfiction proposals. She appreciates great storytelling and is a 'sucker' for outstanding writing and convincing characters. She is also open to select science fiction, as well as high concept and literary fiction works. Lauren is looking for commercial and upmarket women’s fiction and some well-crafted and differentiated YA novels. She moved to FinePrint Literary Management to assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, but is now developing her client list and is open to queries. In addition to being an agent, Mackenzie is also a founding board member of INKLUDED (a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to increasing and celebrating the diversity within the publishing industry). She grew up outside of Philadelphia and is a graduate of Penn State University.After a brief career in the fashion industry, Lauren Bieker made her move to publishing as an intern for agent Paige Wheeler. She was an agent with Charlotte Sheedy Literary Agency and New Leaf Literary & Media before joining SKLA in 2016. Mackenzie began her publishing career as an intern at Fine Print Literary Management and Farrar, Straus & Giroux. She particularly appreciates work that sheds light on marginalized experiences and helps contribute to the cultural conversation.

As a former genetics lab technician, she has a great passion for science books, especially if they are historically driven or revolutionize current theory, as well as sociology, investigative journalism, food writing, memoir, and business books. Mackenzie Brady Watson is a literary agent, focusing on narrative non-fiction for all ages and select Young Adult fiction.
